Manila, beside the bay in 2017

Solaire, City of Dreams and an elevated view of the changing bayfront.

The Solaire building rises behind palm trees and large flower planters beneath a clear blue sky.

The Manila album from 2017 looks across broad roads, resort façades and the bay. Solaire and City of Dreams are identified by the signs on their buildings; higher views show the surrounding coastline and construction sites.

Solaire

Solaire’s name sits high above a long glass façade. Palm trees and large planters fill the roadside foreground, with white walls and blue sky above them. A second view picks out The Theatre at Solaire, its lettering set against a pale building.

Solaire’s bayfront setting places these views in the Entertainment City area of Metro Manila.

City of Dreams

City of Dreams appears across another wide road, with its name stretching along a façade of vertical fins. DreamPlay lettering is visible at one end.

Manila Bay

From above, the scale changes. A glass-fronted Solaire building stands beside a planted terrace, with the bay beyond it. Another view takes in roads, open ground, earthworks and resort buildings along the water.

These are views of the bayfront in the 2017 album, preserving the open spaces and construction visible at the time.
