Gardens beneath the towers
Palm shade, garden paths and carabao sculptures in my Manila 2016 photographs.

The city rises in layers behind the garden: palms in the foreground, an angular roof just beyond them, and tall buildings against a bright blue sky. My Manila 2016 photographs linger on this small patch of greenery. The carabao installation and surrounding architecture suggest Greenbelt in Makati, although the original post does not tag the location.
Garden paths and skyline
Palms and thick planting soften the edges of the buildings. The paved paths curve through low hedges and beneath broad trees; a round terrace catches their shadows. Looking up brings the towers back into view, while the planting keeps the foreground green.
The wider frame holds together the planting, the angular building and the towers behind it. Moving closer brings the sculptures into view.
Carabao sculptures
Beside a pale railing, dark carabao sculptures stand among the grass and stepping stones. One animal faces the camera with its head lowered and horns spreading across the frame; a sculpted farmer sits on another.
The close view brings out the ridges on their hides and the contrast between dark metal, green leaves and sunlight. Beyond them, the glass and angular roofs of the city remain in sight.
