California, from Yosemite’s river to Apple Park
Granite cliffs, the forest floor at Muir Woods, Napa’s vineyard rows and a wall of colour at Apple Park.

My California album from 2017 brings together Yosemite, Muir Woods, Napa and the Apple Park Visitor Center. Water, trees and hills fill much of the trip, with a very different kind of display waiting at Apple Park.
Yosemite National Park
A steep granite wall rises behind the trees, while a calm stretch of river holds their reflection. Gold and yellow foliage gathers along the bank, mixed with the darker conifers. The broad cliff and still water give Yosemite both a towering backdrop and a place to look closely.
The Yosemite post also includes waterfall views. Here, the river keeps the attention on the valley floor: stones along the bank, branches leaning over the water and colour reflected beneath them.
Muir Woods National Monument
At Muir Woods, tall trunks enclose the smaller details below. Ferns crowd the stream, fallen timber crosses the water, and sunlight reaches through the canopy in bright patches.
The shallow creek reveals stones all along its bed. In another part of the woodland, the light catches the leaves and ferns while the surrounding trees remain in shade.
Napa
Napa opens out into vineyard rows and rounded hills. The vines are gold and rust against green strips of grass, with scattered trees marking the edges of the planted slopes.
Apple Park Visitor Center
The Apple Park stop brings a more orderly arrangement of colour: notebooks and T-shirts displayed in matching rows, from green and yellow through red and blue to black. The circular Park motif repeats across the souvenirs.
My original post names “Apple Park Visitor Center + Cafe Macs.” The café counter shown in the same post has a pale frontage and coffee machines beneath a high wall.
