I went to Ho Chi Minh City for a friend’s wedding. My caption added that I was contemplating marrying a tree. The tree’s position on the matter was left unstated.

The wedding gave the trip its occasion. Around it, the album gathered city buildings, bright attractions and a few tables worth remembering.

Bún Chả Phố Cổ, Ho Chi Minh City

At Bún Chả Phố Cổ, the table was covered with noodles, bowls of meat and vegetables, and a basket of leafy herbs. The restaurant’s name appears on the blue-and-white bowls as well as the storefront. The separate plates leave plenty of room to put a bite together with chopsticks.

A café stop in Ho Chi Minh City

An iced drink and a pastry in a paper bag make a smaller meal from the trip. Between the wedding visit, the city and the shared bowls, there was room for a simple café tray too.
