Switzerland: Alpine meadows and Zurich

Mount Titlis, green Alpine meadows and Grossmünster beside the river in Zurich.

Yellow flowers filled the meadows, while snow remained on the mountains above. The 2015 Switzerland stops also included Zurich, where Grossmünster’s twin towers rose over the riverfront.

The Alpine countryside

Timber buildings stood among fenced fields in the valley. Forest covered the slopes behind them, giving way to exposed rock and patches of snow higher up.

Mount Titlis

At Mount Titlis, yellow flowers dotted the grass below snow-streaked peaks. The meadow was already green, but snow still filled the mountain gullies.

Grossmünster and Zurich’s riverfront

Grossmünster’s twin towers rose above the waterfront roofs and façades. A low bridge connected the riverbanks beneath them, with the city clustered along the water.
